To Westpunt and Bandabou by rental car
A west coast day starts with choosing, not ticking off as many beaches as possible. This guide brings together Knip, Playa Kalki, Lagun, Cas Abou and Coral Estate as destinations for your own planning. Choose a main destination and keep other stops as options.
Grote Knip and Kleine Knip
Grote Knip and Kleine Knip are two different beaches. Save the name of the beach you want to visit in your route. The collective name “Knip” is useful when choosing a beach, but does not replace your exact destination.
Decide in advance whether you want to spend longer at one beach or keep both as options. Check the access and parking instructions on arrival. A short list of priorities gives you room to adjust your plan on the spot without driving on just to finish a schedule.
Playa Kalki near Westpunt
Playa Kalki is near Westpunt. The beach therefore does not belong in a list of places close to Blue Bay. Include it in your western plans when preparing, and check the current visitor information before setting off.
If you want to do something besides visiting the beach, first choose what matters most to your group. A plan that can still change on arrival is often more useful than a list of fixed stopping times.
Playa Lagun as a beach stop in its own right
The Curaçao Tourist Board describes Playa Lagun as a long, narrow inlet with rock walls along the sides. Make it a deliberate choice rather than just a name to tick off along the way. Look at the destination’s current information and decide how much of the day you want to spend here.
Discuss what everyone in your group expects from a beach day. Not every visitor wants the same combination of swimming, sightseeing and relaxation. Use this to decide whether Lagun will be the main destination or a possible extra stop.
Cas Abou and Coral Estate: two separate stops
The Curaçao Tourist Board describes Cas Abao Beach as having white sand, palm trees and clear water. According to its operator, Coral Estate also has a beach, but it is a different destination. Save the correct location information for each visit. A beach name and a resort name are not interchangeable route destinations and do not give automatic permission for access.
Check the current conditions with the place you want to visit. Your beach choice remains part of your own day planning.
Coral Estate in your regional planning
If you have an appointment or destination at Coral Estate, use that location’s address and arrival information. Combine that stop only with beach plans that make sense for your day.
Before setting off, take water, check your fuel and save the route. For road use, consult the terms in your rental agreement and follow local traffic signs.
